Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed an exclusive key case to commemorate the brand's centennial. Made from Dark Stained Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it includes a flying "B" paperweight, a set of keys, and a brochure with never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre imagery.

This is a great method to welcome a brand new vehicle owner.

Aesthetics

As a design-driven company, Bentley takes its aesthetics seriously. It's evident in the precise position of its quilting, the choice of leather sourced from the by-products of cattle, timber from forests that are sustainably managed and the creative patterns on its levers. As you approach a vehicle like the Continental GT W12, its beautiful sculptural design is highlighted by carefully curated lighting.

The Continental GT is the most sophisticated open-top Bentley ever created. The rear tonneau on the Continental GT, for instance included the largest piece of dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer that was book-matched. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

Bentley is the most sought-after car brand worldwide due to its distinctive design and workmanship. The company continues to push boundaries by utilizing the most advanced technology and craft, including the introduction of a digital instrument cluster as well as an electric tilt-opening rear glass sunroof and a crafted docking station for Apple iPads, and electrochromic  smart glass that can be changed from opaque to transparent at the touch of the button.

A century after its founding, Bentley - now under sole Volkswagen ownership following years of wrangling with BMW was able to celebrate its centennial in the year 2019. The marque planned a number special events and launches to celebrate the occasion before the planning of a pandemic became a priority.

Design

Bentley is known as a luxury car manufacturer that produces extravagant and luxurious vehicles. But even  bentley car keys  make a statement. The Bentayga key is made of sterling silver and features an enormous 'B' design that tells everyone you drive a Bentley. The key is also inscribed with the dates 1919 and 2019 to commemorate the company's centennial.

The Mulsanne was revamped and redesigned by Bentley Mulliner, to be the ultimate Grand Touring car.  bentley car keys  comes with two pairs of rear seats that are designed to be reminiscent of luxury private aviation offering passengers unbeatable comfort and privacy. A customized heating, air conditioning, and ventilation system has been developed to provide each passenger with the ideal temperature control.

The Mulsanne features a twin turbocharged 6.75 litre W12 engine with 560bhp and 479lb-ft torque. This power is paired with a new suspension system that provides Bentley's trademark quiet ride.

Bentley has launched a new specification for cars made after the year 2019 to commemorate its centenary. This is referred to as the Centenary Specification. This includes contrast stitching and cross-stitching in Centenary Gold thread throughout the cabin. The Bentley Wings are embroidered with Centenary Gold on the headrests and seats as well as other areas of the car. This makes it more fun to celebrate. A bespoke Bentley key case is also included in the Centenary Specification, making the Bentley experience all-inclusive.

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne key features an opening button for the trunk, as well as a button which starts the car. The key also includes a switch to turn on the parking brake. There is a knob that can fold and unfold the mirrors while parked in tight areas. This feature makes it easier to get into and out of your car.

The key is made of vegetable tanned leather. It takes more than two days to make each one. The key is cut by hand, then shaped, stitched after which it is sealed and polished to give a superior result. It is compact and strong and matches the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar to the Volkswagen Phaeton's huge car key, yet it feels heavier and more premium.

It is also equipped with Secure-A-Key, which helps prevent keyless entry theft. The device is placed inside the remote-control key fob, and stops it after a couple of minutes of inactivity, preventing thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices that could unlock and start the vehicle.

Bentley's unique design is a reflection of the values of the company that include high-quality craftsmanship engineering expertise and modern technology. Over 4,000 people work at its Crewe headquarters, where they are responsible for the design, development and production of Bentley automobiles. These workers apply the skills passed over generations and then apply them to cutting-edge technology in the automotive industry. This is the hallmark of British manufacturing at its finest.

Personalisation

Bentley's bespoke division, Mulliner, allows customers to create their own vehicle. The "mood station" lets customers pick images that inspire them. They can choose anything from scenic vistas and sporting events. When each selection is made, a pattern emerges and reveals the design and color preferences for the personalized Bentley.

The guests are given an individual key case created by hand, which contains the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. Keys can be outfitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised welcome lamps that illuminate the pathway of the door opening with the owner's name or logo as they approach the car.

Bentley estimates that it takes 500 man-hours on average to construct and assemble the Mulsanne. One of the main reasons for that lengthy effort is a reluctance to embrace modern tech. Instead of using a machine to space the perfectly matched cross-stitched leather seats, workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Instead of letting the car's built-in sensors guide it to perpendicular and parallel parking spaces drivers must do it by hand.

In the course of the event, Bentley presented its Mulliner personalization capabilities with an exclusive example - the Mulsanne W.O. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays homage to founder William Osler Bentley. The limited edition cars are available in 100. the key with a special design that shows a small portion of the 1930 8 Liter's crankshaft.
